Free Food Adelaide Updated 13 April 2024 Please email [email protected] for additions and corrections.
Adelaide’s free food culture constantly changes so this leaflet will never be fully accurate. Venues are free and don’t require I.D. or Centrelink Card unless stated. Beware of lambs collecting personal data for the Eternal Shame File. Expect to be treated as if you’re sick, pathetic or bad. Don’t react. Keep a diary of your experiences. Some staff are excellent.
Groups listed below offer other secret services including free prescriptions, blankets, extra boxes of food, hygiene kits, showers, money for electricity and referrals to fast track you on waiting lists. But read the terms and conditions on any “agreement” before signing. Sharks prowl these waters. Protect your health by disposing rotting and unhealthy food. And favour places operated with kindness and intelligence. Avoid or exploit those that humiliate and degrade. Remember, we live in a concrete jungle with predators posing as friends and helpers.
